Building on the success of ‘Isle of MTV 2002’, which took Europe by storm last summer, ‘Isle of MTV 2003’ is set to be even bigger and better this year, with a 12-date club tour boasting an eclectic mix of DJ’s, sophisticated venues and some of Europe’s most discerning clubbers. The highlight of the tour will be an open-air main event, which is set to take place on 7 August on the picturesque island of Ile du Gaou, near the town of Six-Fours Les Plages, South of France.
Sponsored by MINI, Lipton, and Philips, ‘Isle of MTV 2003’ will play host to over 30,000 clubbers as it traverses Europe from June to August 2003. The ‘Isle of MTV’ tour, which will kick off in Rotterdam on 8 June will stop off in some of Europe’s hippest clubbing locations including Warsaw, Budapest, Barcelona, Lausanne (Switzerland), London, Albufeira (Portugal), Jesolo (Italy), Berlin and Stockholm. Bringing with it a plethora of breaking and established DJ’s and live acts such as Tiga, Darren Emerson, Chicks on Speed, Erick Morillo, Todd Terry, Chocolate Puma and Harry Choo Choo Romero, the club tour is set to give dance music lovers a taste of what to expect on Ile du Gaou on 7 August 2003. Each event will also boast stunning visual displays produced and mixed by funky moving image label, microchunk. This will include live appearances by VJ’s AvinIT and Anyone at 4 of the club tour dates in addition to the main event.
The ‘Isle of MTV’ main event will be the ultimate beach party. Five thousand music lovers from across Europe will be partying as the sun sets on the stunning, unspoilt island of Ile du Gaou, one of the best kept secrets in France. Celebrity hosts, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, and a compilation of live music acts and irresistible DJ’s including the already confirmed Tiga (of “Sunglasses at Night” fame), Mr C and Rob da Bank, will guarantee revelry long into the night and one of the wildest parties that France has ever seen.
