If you must change the number you registered with, just contact N26 support and they will assist you out.  Charge card cloning and identity theft are a huge problem in the Dominican Republic, and the challenge is just increasing, so always utilize cash if you don't don't have another selection, and give a wide berth to ATMs in public places.  If satellite internet is the sole option, expect to get frustrated a great deal of the moment.
